SHUM is a team of new media artists working internationally with physical art objects, installations and digital content.

Born out of a decade-long friendship, Andrey Gorlachev (b. 1994, new media artist) and Alexander Zhiganov (b. 1998, creative producer) initiated the team's journey in January 2023, and together with 11 like-minded creators, they form the core of SHUM.

SEEDLING
ART INSTALLATION 2026


Seedling  is a new media art installation where industrial material and organic forms meet. The metal went through a metamorphosis, and in place of rusted scrap, a mosaic emerged – woven from sheets of shiny metal, light, and thousands of pixels.

Materials for the project were provided by GRADAS, a manufacturer of facade panels using EMOCIO® volumetric perforation technology.

Its metal surface reacts to the direction of light and the viewer’s position: as you move, the image becomes clear, dissolves and appears again. A single step can completely transform what you see.
